Monday, April 25th, 2011: 15-year-old Ed Pauly sent shock waves through High School last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the American HS League Player of the Week Award.
A newcomer to the league, Pauly made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .714 average, 15 hits in 21 at-bats, no home runs and 5 RBI.
Where the Lake Michigan Beach HS Blaze second baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Pauly certainly made his mark last week.
Pauly is presently batting .438 with 7 home runs, 22 runs scored and 31 RBIs. His OBP is .526. |

Monday, April 25th, 2011: Martin Lambert burst onto the American High School Baseball Association stage in a big way last week. This promising rookie center fielder for Tri-City HS garnered everyone's respect by putting up some remarkable numbers and picking up the Player of the Week trophy.
The 15-year-old haunted opposing pitchers hitting .500 (12-24) with 3 home runs and 13 RBIs last week.
Looking at his present stats, Lambert has compiled a .405 batting average in 20 games with a .480 on-base percentage, while hitting 10 home runs and driving in 35 runs. |
 | Bears Williams Has 15 Ks
Sunday, April 24th, 2011: If you can't hit 'em, you can't beat 'em. That was the story today at the West Islip HS-Arcata HS clash at Angels Ballpark. Bears twirler Ira Williams gunned down 15 Angels via strikeouts and beat them 6-3. In a superb performance he allowed 6 hits and issued 2 walks for the victory.
This year Williams has fashioned a 2-3 mark, 6.07 ERA and pitched 29.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .254 against him and he has logged 49 strikeouts. |
